The Programme

Dignity Through
Economic Independence

Youth with disabilities in Kenya face unemployment rates far higher than their peers — not because of a lack of capacity, but because of barriers to training, capital, and markets. The Auschidys Livelihoods pillar directly addresses these barriers through practical, market-linked vocational training and entrepreneurship support.

Our programme is built around real skills with real markets. We partner with local businesses, cooperatives, and government agencies to create pathways from training to employment or self-employment. Every graduate receives business mentorship, financial literacy training, and connections to microfinance — the building blocks of sustainable economic independence.

Livelihood & Employment

Pillar 4 of 5 · MAPP Framework

How We Work

Our Approach

Skills Training

Practical vocational skills in cooking, tailoring, beadwork, gardening, and mechanics — taught by DIET-trained instructors in accessible settings.

Entrepreneurship

We go beyond skills — training participants in business planning, financial management, pricing, and marketing so they can run sustainable enterprises.

Market Linkages

Auschidys connects graduates to real markets — partner businesses, cooperative buyers, and government procurement opportunities that value inclusive sourcing.

Financial Inclusion

Table banking groups and savings circles give participants access to microfinance, helping them start businesses, manage income, and build assets.
